Irene est première directrice générale, première gestionnaire de portefeuille et cocheffe de l’équipe Actions nord-américaines, RBC GMA Inc., où elle se spécialise dans la recherche fondamentale dans les secteurs de l’assurance, de l’industrie, de la technologie et des médias. Auparavant, elle a travaillé à titre de gestionnaire de portefeuille pendant près de six ans ainsi que comme gestionnaire associée de portefeuille depuis 2014. Mme Fernando s’est jointe à son équipe actuelle en 2009 à titre d’analyste en recherche sur actions canadiennes, après être entrée au service de RBC en 2007 dans le cadre du Programme de généraliste de RBC Gestion de patrimoine. Avant son arrivée à RBC, elle était analyste pour une banque d’investissement multinationale. Elle a commencé sa carrière dans le secteur des placements en 2005.
