Cary Krosinsky is a leading independent global educator, author and advisor teaching popular classes at academic institutions such as Brown, NYU and Yale.
He was a member of the NY State Common Decarbonization Advisory Panel appointed by Governor Cuomo and Comptroller DiNapoli which informed the fund’s June 2019 Climate Action Plan, now actively implementing his suggestion of minimum standards and increasing its sustainable investments to $20B, and he advises many other global asset owners and other investors on a similar basis.
His most recent and 7th book, Modern China, calls for better relations between China and the West for the sake of solving climate change, produced with the Sustainable Finance Institute where he is co-founder which among other projects, launched the recent Certified Sustainable Financial Analyst (CSFA) designation for the global sustainable finance industry.
His earlier books on sustainable finance are considered seminal, having helped steer what used to be known as socially responsible investing from negative to more positive approaches starting in the mid-2000s.
He is also an author of papers on the intersection of finance, capital and the low carbon transition, co-founder of Real Impact Tracker and the Carbon Tracker Initiative, and is an advisor to The Metals Company, which recently merged into a SPAC at a valuation of $2.8B.
