Matthew is a managing director and chief operating officer (COO) of RBC GAM Inc. and a member of the RBC GAM Leadership Committee and its Strategy Sub-committee. He was appointed COO for RBC GAM International in the U.K. in 2015, returned to North America in 2017 to also assume oversight for North American operations, finance and technology; and became global COO in 2020. Matthew joined Phillips, Hager & North in 2007 as senior legal counsel and became vice president, institutional strategy in 2009. He began his career in the investment industry in 2001 at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP as an associate providing advice to investment management firms before joining TD Asset Management in 2002, where he provided legal counsel to the institutional investment mangement and mutual fund business.
