Michael Kitt is a managing director and vice chair of Private Markets at RBC GAM Inc. He oversees RBC GAM's private market investment programs, and serves as portfolio manager of the RBC Canadian Core Real Estate Fund and as a member of the private market strategies' investment committees. Michael joined the organization as head of Real Estate Equity Investments in 2018 before becoming head of Private Markets in 2020; since then, he has driven significant growth across the platform, launching five new open-ended strategies across real estate equity, mortgage investments, and global infrastructure solutions. Prior to joining the firm, he served as chief financial officer of the global real estate development and investment arm at one of Canada's largest public pension plans, the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS). Michael has also held senior positions at another leading Canadian fiduciary, the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board, and its global real estate subsidiary Cadillac Fairview, overseeing real estate investment and development activities in Canada and the U.S., and was a trustee of two public real estate investment trusts - InnVest REIT and Choice Properties REIT. He started his career in the investment industry in 1992.
